HACER BOZKURT

HACER BOZKURT
Hacer Bozkurt (14.01.1989) is an architect and architectural photographer from Turkey working locally and internationally.
Photography and architecture are the most important elements in her way of understanding and living the world. In her works, she expresses her thoughts from the perspective of architecture through photography. In her photography, buildings are not architectural objects, they are living mechanisms with their own residents, climate, and environment. She always seeks to understand, discover, and reflect on the relationships between these living mechanisms and their artifacts. In her works, she focuses on making visible the invisible or hidden layers of the daily life of the built environment.
She has participated in and conducted numerous workshops, competitions, and international exhibitions on the intersection of architecture and photography. Her first solo photography exhibition Layers of Time, was exhibited in Utopia Stadt in Wuppertal. She has continued her exhibitions, Expanding Space Artist residency project, with the invitation of Insblaue Gallery in Remscheid, Germany.
Her photos were exhibited at various biennales and design weeks, including the Internationale Rotterdam Architecture Biennale, 212 Photography Festival (Istanbul) and Caldas Design Week(Portugal).
She received several prizes and grants in architectural photography, such as M.Mode Awards 2021 (1st Place), Loop Design Awards 2022 (Honorable Mention), and Salt Research Funds 2021 (selected as one of the six scholars for research projects). Her photos have been featured on international architecture platforms such as Archdaily, Architizer, Archello, Divisare, Arquine and Dwars Magazine.
She continues to think and produce projects on architectural photography at studio hcrbzkrt.
